Guest lecture on ‘Contemporary Trends in Corporate and Commercial Laws in India’ by Ms. Lakshmi S. Nayak, Assistant General Manager
On 2nd November 2019, COAPC Committee at IFIM Law School organized a guest lecture on ‘Contemporary Trends in Corporate and Commercial Laws in India’ by Ms. Lakshmi S. Nayak, Assistant General Manager – Legal Counsel, India Waters, India Pvt. Ltd.
Ms. Nayak having a vast experience in Corporate world as legal manager/ contract analyst/legal heads at various Companies was highly motivated to address law students for the first time in her career. She gave practical insights into the corporate world and made students aware of the laws they need to master on to pursue legal career in corporate world.
Some of the topics dealt are - Commercial Law and Corporate Law - Differences between them - Rules and regulations for good corporate governance - Challenges in the Corporate world - Offences and penalties in Corporate law – skills law students need to inculcate to pursue their career in corporate world.
In a nutshell she delivered information regarding every aspect of corporate laws and challenges.
At the end, students were educated with the vast knowledge in the domain of Corporate law by Ms. Nayak. And per the feedback collected post session, students also requested to have Ms. Nayak as guest lecturer at a regular interval. Madam was kind enough to offer internships at her legal department to our law students interested in corporate laws.
