PRE – INVITE: IFIM LAW COLLEGE SOUTH ASIAN TECHNOLOGY LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2018 (SATLMCC).

About the Competition

IFIM Law School, Bangalore takes immense pleasure in announcing the 1st “IFIM Law School South Asian Technology Law Moot Court Competition.” This national moot court competition aims to carve a niche in the arena of national and international mooting from the first year itself as the organizers will be inviting teams from SAARC Countries for participation unlike the national moots of other law schools.
This is a national moot court competition with a South Asian tinge to it.
The theme for the Moot Court Compromis will be an intersection of Information Technology Law, various aspects of Public and Private International Law, Comparative Constitutional Law and Law of Contracts.

Team Cap:

The Competition will have a team cap of 32, the allotment of which shall be made on the basis of a Memorial Selection round. Teams from SAARC countries have also been invited and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have already committed to sending teams.

Prizes:

The College will award various trophies and cash prizes worth more than Rs. 2 lakhs to participant teams and students over 2 lakhs.
The Moot Court Proposition is expected to be released tentatively by the first week of December 2017.

Judges:

Judges at the competition will represent the who’s who of the legal profession including practitioners, cyber law and constitutional law experts and members of the academia.

Venue and Networking Dinners:

Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and finals to be hosted in a starred accommodation with two networking dinners on the two days of the event.

Accomodation for Participants:

Comfortable feature-rich accommodation for participants with all basic amenities.

Panel discussion between semi-finals and finals:

A short panel discussion on the intersection of cyber law, cyber surveillance and private international law will be held involving some of the judges of the quarter-final and semi-final rounds between the semi-final and final rounds.

Compilation of an edited book:

The content from some of the best memorials submitted at the competition along with the proceedings of the panel discussion will published as an edited book with an ISBN Number.
